Verizon Releases Managed Services for IT Infrastructure.
Verizon Business has launched the Remote IP Application Management Service Basic for American businesses and government customers for outsourcing the monitoring and management of the basic IT infrastructure and operating system, such as Microsoft Windows, or Sun Solaris.
With this service, Verizon aims at reducing the complexity of managing simultaneous IT environments, as it can remotely manage servers in a variety of settings, such as at the customer premise, at a third party data center, etc.
According to Ed McGuinness, Chief Marketing Officer and senior Vice President, Verizon Business, the launch of this service can be attributed to the increase in transition to IP by most companies of today, which demands higher value service to help them manage their IP infrastructure better.
Organizations using this service can use to Total View management portal to manage, measure, plan, and even troubleshoot critical problems relating to servers in real-time. Moreover, the service also tracks issues that may hinder the performance of critical IT infrastructure at the operating system level. Upon detection of a problem Verizon Business, in close coordination with the client, manage hardware and operating system issues, such as identification, verification, diagnosis, resolution, tracking, documentation, etc.
Verizon Business also performs a number of functions at aim at standardizing the management of customers operating system software. This includes service management, change management, asset management, path management, as well as configuration management. The service provides an advanced set of Web based tools which customers can use to track service tickets, modify, as well as manage their infrastructure.
Verizon Business also provides add-on options such as backup/recovery management, security management, as well as network management for additional network devices. |
